About us

Tradition for Real Indian Women

Since 1991 with love

Our Story

Founded in 1991, UTSAV has been working with heritage woven handloom textile traditions, co-creating unique designs with weavers from across India. Our endeavour has been two-fold: to nurture and sustain India’s heritage handloom wealth; and to simultaneously re-energize the craftsmen with aesthetic contemporary design and colour sensibilities – to create Sarees, Dupattas and Fabrics that are a joy to behold, touch and drape!

Straight from the traditional weavers

From the remotest corners of India

UTSAV takes pride in nurturing India’s vast abundance of tradition and heritage and reinterpreting them with a keen sense of aesthetics, design, colour and balance. Each UTSAV textile is visualized in minute detail in close collaboration with master weavers from across India especially in the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.

Utsav's Commitment

Utsav's Commitment

For Women

For Women
UTSAV’s commitment to Indian textiles can be best described as double reeded. The one is the fragile heritage textile tradition, which, being at great risk, needs to be cherished, celebrated and protected. UTSAV is primarily committed to this sacred dharohar.
But in a rapidly changing environment can our rich textile heritage be left behind? Thus, the other reed is one of innovation, but with commitment to aesthetics and quality. UTSAV has thus also facilitated cross-fertilization among weaving traditions, that respect Indian design and aesthetics.
Through this double-reeded approach, I, along with my team at UTSAV create Sarees and Dupattas that are a joy to behold, touch and wear. Each textile is visualized in minute detail in close collaboration with master weavers. I see each Saree as a link with a distinct weave tradition with its own unique personality. Redefining an ancient heritage to make it relevant for contemporary times and customers is the heart of what I set out to do through UTSAV.
Along with curating a special collection of weaves and prints, we prioritize creating a unique and aesthetic shopping experience for our customers. I have cherished the support from our large pool of customers in India and across the globe, and tremendously value your feedback in furthering UTSAV’s mission.
